Monsoon special

Jaisalmer in the Rains

The monsoon here is gentle, with only a handful of rainy days. Gadisar Lake fills, the dunes turn faintly green, Teej brings swings and songs, and hotels offer their best rates of the year.

  • Days are still warm (36–38 °C), so plan sightseeing for mornings and evenings
  • Many desert camps close from April to August, so stay in a hotel and do an evening safari
  • Few crowds at the Fort and the havelis
